Why is a gear a wheel?

To clarify, a gear is not specifically a wheel. Although gears and wheels can equally have round shapes, they provide unique features in mechanical methods.

On the other hand, a wheel is a round ingredient that facilitates movement and decreases friction. It is usually employed in conjunction with an axle to aid and rotate objects, such as in vehicles or machinery. Wheels are commonly sleek and do not have enamel for meshing with other factors like gears do.

Whilst gears and wheels can each have circular designs, their major features and mechanisms of procedure are distinctive. Gears are especially developed for ability transmission and motion control, whilst wheels are mainly applied for supplying support and enabling sleek rolling or rotational movement.
